Take Advantage of Web 2.0 and Social Media
I just came across this awesome presentation mentioned on GeoMusings. The GeoWeb Community Development presentation was presented at the 2009 ESRI Developer Summit in Palm Springs, CA. The presentation by Alan Laframboise is very professionally done. Although it is ESRI focused, it has some great points about Web 2.0 and social media.
Alan sums up the presentation with a few homework assignments:
1. Build a GeoWeb “Dashboard”
- Alerts
- RSS
- Social Media
2. Sign up for Twitter
(If you do sign up, be sure to follow @GISPathway)
I personally see a great benefit to Social Media and the Communities Environment. If you are not doing it, you are missing out on some excellent networking opportunities.
