On a positive note for the week, my total funds raised have increased to just over $180.  This is really exciting, and I appreciate the support of those who have helped out.  In that total I have added some more spare change that I have found around the house, and I was able to cash in some money from a couple of online surveys that I recently completed.  I am still looking for support and trying to search out any way to raise this support.  I am open to any ideas you may have.  You can keep up with my fundraising total on my main geospatial competition page.

I have received some conflicting information concerning the conference registration cost.  I have been told $115, $125, and $185.  Although the varying amounts won’t keep me from attending, it seems like the different sources may be missing some facts.  I just hate not having a straight forward plan that I can easily follow.  The $125 came from a SkillsUSA website early in my research, the $115 came from the Digital Question SkillsUSA website, and the $185 came from SkillsUSA North Carolina chapter.  I am still waiting on a confirmation for the correct amount so that I finalize my registration.

As the competition gets closer, I am becoming more and more excited.  I have started looking at flights from Charlotte, NC to Kansas City, Mo.  They appear to be a little cheaper than originally expected.  Hopefully I can finalize a flight in the next week or so.  I also got confirmation from my wife’s OB/GYN doctor that she can fly as long as she in not 32 weeks or later.  For the week of the competition she will be about 29 weeks, so we are good there.  I really want her to go with me, and that’s just one step in the right direction.  We just need to make arangements for our kids and find the additional money.
